The content of the lessons is matched to the individual needs of the student, but various topics – such as technique and reading music – are usually covered by most students in addition to playing a variety of pieces. Some students learn rock or metal. Others study classical guitar. Some students enjoy both styles.

Beginners and improvers are welcomed - both young and adult…It really is ‘never too late’. If you're retired, you probably have more time to practice and will make good progress. If you work during the evenings, then lessons during the day are also possible.

All lessons take place at my music studio, complete with various instruments and digital recording facilities.

A small number of electric guitar students opt for joint lessons in order to work on projects such as song writing, band rehearsals, and recording their own CDs.

Many parents bring their children wanting them to learn to read music and a few choose to stay during the lessons which is fine. Occasionally, since I also work as a primary school teacher, I even provide guidance with homework, maths and English tuition!

Whether you are looking to enter for the ABRSM exams, or find extra support through school and college, or simply wish to play for your own pleasure, I look forward to helping you enjoy learning the guitar.
